Reiki First Degree
“Self care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you”
On completion of the 1st degree, you will be able to confidently practice Reiki for yourself and offer Reiki to friends, family and pets.
Founded by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900’s, Reiki is a simple and yet profoundly effective natural healing practice that uses light touch to support a return to balance of the physical body, the mind, emotions and spirit. Once learnt it can be practiced for self-care as well as offered to others and can be used alongside any other modality including orthodox medicine. Reiki has no dogma, is secular and can be successfully learnt by anyone who wishes to enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing. Here is some information on what is covered over the two day class.
You will learn self care practices to help you bring balance back into your life. Practicing on your classmates so you feel confident sharing this with your family and friends.
We will cover the history and why it has stood the test of time to become one of the world’s fastest growing natural healing practices for self-care as well as being increasingly welcomed into mainstream healthcare facilities such as hospitals and hospices.
You will learn about the nature of Reiki practice and the many benefits it can offer you in your everyday life.
We discuss the 5 Reiki Precepts which are guidelines to help promote a greater sense of wellbeing and happiness and note how modern scientific research is in agreement.
You will learn a clearing and calming exercise and enjoy a short Reiki meditation.
You will receive attunements, enabling you to experience a self-treatment on day one and be able to practice on others on day two.
The class is mostly experiential and note taking is not required as a full manual and certificate, recognised by Reiki NZ Inc is provided.
