Originally from Luxembourg in Europe, I moved to Auckland 25 years ago now.
Like many people I was always drawn to natural health care and keen to minimise my use of chemicals as much as possible. This became more important to me as I had my own children.
My grandfather, who was Indian, always used homeopathy and I remember as a child, he always had his little box of remedies with him and if ever anything happened to one of us children, he quickly had something on hand.
I had used homeopathy in an ad hoc way all my life. When my youngest started developing chronic ear infections, and after months of antibiotics only to be told that my baby needed to have surgery, I went looking for an alternative. Through a friend I was referred to a homeopath and I never looked back. My daughter never developed another ear infection and didn’t need surgery.
I was originally trained as an accountant and then set up a business in executive search specialising in the university sector. While I built a very successful business, I always wanted to move into the natural health space. I eventually decided to train as a classical homeopath through the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy in New Zealand.
What I love about homeopathy is that you look at the person as a whole, so you can provide good support with appropriate remedies for that individual. Being a mother and a grandmother, I love knowing there are natural ways to support those important to you.
At present I am qualified to provide homeopathic consultations for acute situations (short term). I am in the process of completing my final studies so that I can register as a homeopath. During this time, my cases are supervised by a registered homeopath.
Appointments are available in person in Howick in East Auckland and if from further afield, via Zoom.
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a gentle and holistic approach to healing that has been around for over 200 years, and was originally developed by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician and scholar.
The philosophy of homeopathy is that our body has an innate ability to heal itself and symptoms are just expressions of an underlying imbalance of our vital force. With the help of tiny doses of natural substances, carefully selected to match your individual symptoms, homeopathy aims to stimulate your body’s own healing mechanisms. Unlike conventional medicine, homeopathy views health as a delicate dance between our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Homeopathy is safe to take alongside other prescriptions and is safe to use during pregnancy and safe for infants and children. It can be used for acute or first aid situations, as well as longer term conditions. It’s a personalized journey towards radiant health, and I’m thrilled to share more about it with you!
Reiki
I am also qualified in Reiki and in 2011, I completed my Advanced Reiki Training in the Usui System of Natural Healing. Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive practice that can be used alongside conventional medical treatments or homeopathy. It is often described as a deeply relaxing and soothing experience, with recipients feeling a sense of warmth, calmness, and peace during and after the session.
